Israel killed 14 health workers in Lebanon in 24 hours

The World Health Organisation has confirmed that 12 doctors, paramedics and nurses were killed in a strike on Friday night on the Bourj Qalaouiyeh primary healthcare centre, hours after two paramedics lost their lives in attacks on a health facility in Al Sowana.
In a statement, the WHO said it has verified 27 attacks on healthcare in Lebanon since March 02, resulting in 30 deaths and 35 injuries, including the horrifying events of Friday. The group condemned the "tragic loss of life" and emphasised that "health workers must always be protected".
"According to international humanitarian law, medical personnel and facilities should never be attacked or militarized," It added.
On Saturday morning, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee justified the attack after accusing Hezbollah of using ambulances and medical facilities for military purposes, resembling Israel's excuse to kill health workers in Gaza.
At least 826 people have been killed in Lebanon by Israeli strikes, according to the Ministry of Health, with more than 2,000 people wounded. This includes at least 65 women and 106 children.
With about 1 million people displaced, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Israel could be committing “a new genocide” in Lebanon.
Israel was accused of war crimes for its attacks on Gaza’s healthcare facilities during its two-year war on the strip by a UN commission of inquiry.
