CAA protests at Jama Masjid: Bhim Army's Azad escapes from detention and leads the protest

Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad who was detained from Delhi’s Jama Masjid on Friday after he tried to lead a protest march against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, has escaped police custody.

After Friday prayers ended at the mosque, a massive protest started from the Jama Masjid in the old Delhi with Azad.

Thousands of protesters led by Azad shouted slogans against Citizenship Amendment Act from the Jama Masjid in Delhi, defying a ban amid huge police presence.

Bhim army leader held up a copy of the constitution as he surfaced inside the gates of Jama Masjid just after Friday prayers.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had denied permission to Azad's protest march from Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar.
