Petrol bomb hurled near Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA protest site

A petrol bomb was hurled by an unidentified person near the protest site at Shaheen Bagh on Sunday where Muslim women have been on a sit-in for over three months against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The protest has been curtailed to only a symbolic one with not more than 5 people present at a time due to Coronavirus outbreak.

A man riding a motorcycle is believed to have hurled petrol bomb at the protest site.

No injuries have been reported.

The incident took place at around 9.30 am, protesters said.

A police team has found five-six petrol-filled bottles at the site.

The protesting Muslim women have been leading the historic protest in national capital against CAA, NRC, and NPR for the last three months.

Firing reported from Jamia

Meanwhile a gunfire reported at Jamia Millia Islamia anti-CAA protest side though no one was there to protest today.

"Two person riding a Pulsar bike fired a bullet and threw a petrol bomb on the protest site at Jamia. No casualties reported yet," witnesses say.
