Bihar: NDA gains clear edge

After the close contest, ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seems to be racing ahead with leads in 129 seats. The RJD-led Grand Alliance has a lead on 100 seats.

The saffron party is now ahead in 70 seats and RJD is leading on 63.

Another important player LJP has a slight edge on seven seats.

Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM is ahead in three seats and its ally BSP in one.

The counting of votes began at 8 am at 55 centres across 38 districts.

Most exit polls have given the Grand Alliance a clear edge over the NDA.

Over 57 per cent of the nearly 7.30 crore electors had exercised their franchise during the three-phase elections, despite the pandemic.
