Kamal Haasan accuses BJP of distributing cash, lodges complaint
Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan on Tuesday reportedly lodged a complaint with the RO regarding BJP distributing tokens which can be exchanged for money post elections, to the people of Kempatti colony, reports said.
"We have certain problems in certain booths. But the main complaint is that a free-for-all distribution is happening all around since yesterday night. They are doing it very deviously and very quickly, so there isn't enough to call…" Haasan told reporters.
"We have caught hold of some tokens and some methodology…the modus operandi is very clear. Election officials will be looking into it,' he added.
Haasan is pitted against BJP candidate Vanathi Srinivasan and the sitting Congress MLA Mayura Jayakumar.
