Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took away the portfolios of rebel ministers camping in Assam’s Guwahati and allocated them to other cabinet colleagues.

Uddhav Thackeray who is facing a rebellion within his party, Monday said that the government has done this so that the people of the state do not suffer.

Thackeray handed over portfolios of 9 ministers, who are camping in Guwahati to other ministers.

Subhash Desai has been given charge of urban development, which was earlier handled by ousted party leader Eknath Shinde. In addition, Desai has also been entrusted with the job to handle MSRDC earlier held by Shinde. Anil Parab will takeover the water supply and sanitation held by Gulabrao Patil. And rural ministry earlier held by Ambhaji Desai has been given over to Sanjay Bansod.

The Supreme Court is hearing pleas of rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde against the disqualification notice issued by Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal against him and 15 other rebel legislators.
