Forced displacement continues for Palestinians 76 years after Nakba: UNRWA

The UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees has drawn attention to the masses of Palestinians who have been displaced during Israel’s seven-month war on Gaza.

It said in a post on X that 600,000 have fled Rafah since Israel intensified its military operations this month and about 1.7 million have had to leave their homes and shelters since the war began in October.

Nakba Day, occurring on May 15 each year, commemorates the violent displacement of Palestinians from their lands as the State of Israel was founded. More than 700,000 were displaced and dispossessed then.
