Militants attack Army outpost in J&K’s Doda, six injured

Six people, including five army men, were injured when suspected militants attacked a joint checkpoint of police and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Tuesday night.
The attack took place at a height of 12,000 feet above sea level in the scenic Chattergala area, according to Indian Express. Further details were awaited.
The injured include five soldiers and a special police officer (SPO).
Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone said to NDTV that militants opened fire at a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in Chattargala area late last night. An encounter is underway between the security forces and the militants in the higher reaches, he said.
Meanwhile in Kathua, a paramilitary personnel was killed in action while a suspected militant was killed during an encounter. The police said two militants were involved in the Kathua attack last evening and one of them has been killed. Security forces are now using drones to hunt for the second one in the Hiranagar area of Kathua.
Just two days before these incidents in Jammu, a bus carrying pilgrims had come under suspected militant attack in Reasi, killing nine passengers.
