Spain crowned Euro 2024 champions

In a thrilling finale, Spain emerged victorious in Euro 2024, defeating England 2-1 at the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Mikel Oyarzabal's winning goal secured Spain's record fourth European Championship title, capping off an impressive tournament run.
A skillful move by 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, followed by a precise pass to Nico Williams, led to Spain's opening goal. Later, in the 70th minute, Cole Palmer replaced Kobbie Mainoo and quickly made an impact, teaming up with Jude Bellingham to level the score for England.
However, Spain's Mikel Oyarzabal, who had come on as a substitute, scored the winning goal, capitalizing on a low cross from Marc Cucurella on the left flank.
Williams, who scored the opener, had this to say post-match: “[Feeling] euphoric. I’m really happy.
“For everyone who supported us – we are European champions. We can now go for the [2026] World Cup,” he proclaims.
“We got the championship at the end. Yes it was going to be very difficult, but I know we were going to be a great team.”
Lamine Yamal has been named the player of the final, becoming the youngest player in history to win the Euro title. And he just turned 17 a day before the title win.
Rodri, meanwhile, becomes the player of the tournament.
