Arvind Kejriwal’s car allegedly attacked during campaigning, AAP blames BJP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s car was pelted with stones during campaigning in New Delhi. The party released a video purportedly showing a group of people waving black flags and a stone being hurled at the vehicle.
“Fearing defeat, BJP panicked, got its goons to attack Arvind Kejriwal. BJP candidate Pravesh Verma's goons attacked Arvind Kejriwal with bricks and stones while he was campaigning and tried to hurt him so that he could not campaign. BJP people, Kejriwal ji is not going to be scared of your cowardly attack, the people of Delhi will give you a befitting reply,” the AAP wrote in Hindi and posted a video clip of the incident.
“This was a planned attack by the BJP,” The Hindu quoted an AAP leader as saying, claiming that supporters of BJP’s New Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma were responsible.
The video, which was shared widely, shows Kejriwal sitting inside a vehicle while police personnel are seen clearing the route. A man waving a black cloth and a stone thrown in the direction of the car can also be seen in the footage.
Responding to the allegations, the Delhi Police, which functions under Union Home Minister Amit Shah, denied any incident of stone pelting. They stated that some individuals had attempted to wave black flags at the AAP leader but were promptly removed from the scene, The Hindu reported.
Kejriwal, who has Z-plus category security, remained unharmed during the incident.
This incident comes amid a heated campaign for the New Delhi constituency. An AAP leader, quoted by The Hindu, stated, “Supporters of BJP’s New Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma attacked Kejriwal during campaigning in the constituency.”
